Love the title!
yeah thanks, its all I had
This has nothing to do with the blog, but I spend more time blogging than emailing, so here you go: Justin got me a George Bush countdown t-shirt. It's so cool! Thought you'd appreciate the idea.
Did you hear about the football player in DC that was killed in Miami over the weekend? Here was a response to one of the Newpaper articles:
In the last five years we have lost 3700 soldiers in Iraq, in contrast during that same period of time we have lost "27000" Black men murdered by other Black men. Unfortunately, the headlines that we see are Imus, Dog the Bounty Hunter, nooses and the Jena six. Until the the Black community acknowledges that the real problem is the constant slaughter happening every hour in this country. The race dealers(Al & Jessie)and others in this country are very successful at keeping the Black community's attention focused on trivial matters, while the slaughter continues...
Interesting. Discuss...
So what is your point? If it is that Black people are responsible for some of there own problems in this country then your right. But if your point is that somehow excuses the treatment all minorities, not just blacks but women as well then your a crazy person.
I don't beleive black men want to be in jail, or on drugs, shooting each other, I don't think black familiys want to live in poverty, but alot of them are. I don't have to argue "Anonymous" that this country doesnt treat people of color the same, cuz its a pretty well established well documented, much littigated fact. Black people started out as property (YEAH! I PLAYED THE SLAVE CARD) are u sick of hearing about slavery anonymous? Sorry, thats the starting point for black folks in this country, so its kinda hard to avoid if we are going to state facts about racial tensions.Plus I'm sure the whole slavery thing was pretty freakin annoying for my ancestors, so this one is for you great great great great grandpa Blackshear! As property Then we went from Property to free, but powerless. Then we got to the point of being slightly tolerated, eventually given the right to vote. We were STILL beeing discrimnated against (whites only) less than 40 years ago. Thats in my lifetime asshole. When we decided to fight for equal rights we got sprayed with firehoses. 34 years ago. Thats not Color Purple era
Do u think that the established society that accepted the concept of owning another human being just one day said, "These blacks are people too, no, lets set them free" Nope, thats not what happened, we fought a war for freedom. Not just blacks but all the decent white folk and anyone who subscribed to the notion that humans ought not to own each other. We fought in the 60's again for the right to education, employment, to drink at the same water fountain. Did the establishment say "Hey black folks, hey women, we have treated u like shit, secondhand citizens for years, from now on lets judge people by the content of there character.!"Is that what happened "annonymous?" Nope. We once again fought for that right, less thatn 40 years ago we were denied healthcare, basic human rights because of our skin color. Do u REALLy beleive just 30 years later "everything is even and fair playing feild now" It doesnt work that way.
Your right its a fucked up world we live in when black men kill other black men, but ask yourself how much of there fucked up economic, and social situation that they find themselves in is because of this countries treatment of the disinfranchised. We as black people need to take responsability for some of our actions, to be sure, but to suggest that "Thats the problem" in this country is pathetic and shows me that your one of those people who skewers history with selective memory just so u don't feel so gulity. I mean you played the Al & Jesse Card? lol. How typical. Come dude u can do better than that. Dont forget to blame all of black peoples problems on hip hop.
hey anonyomous, to bad you don't have the courage to post who you are, you know stand up for your rather lame misguided convictions, I was all set for some intelligent debate. Sigh.....come on don't be a coward.
