What's your clearence Clarence?

.....and...whats your vector Victor? That was from the movie Airplane (1980) love that flick, but my rant today is on Clarence Thomas and I did not want to title it Clarence Thomas is a big fat hypocrite so there.

So Clarence Thomas, the (ahem) esteemed Supreme Court Justice has a new book out called "If I Did it"...sorry that's the OJ book. I get them confused. Black, balding 60 ish men who have done more to hurt race relations than than the town of Jena ever could, you can see how I might confuse them. No, Judge Thomas book is called "My Grandfather's Son". I have not read the entire book, but I have read excerpts, I have seen him on talk shows and boy is he pissed.

It is hard for me to feel sorry for Clarence who received a million dollar book deal, probably gets at least a six figure salary, long ass vacations and is a Supreme Court Justice. What really offends me about him, and ironically I was not aware of this until I read some of his book is that he grew up in the state I live in GA. He grew up in Jim Crow era GA back in the day. Until I read his book I had no idea he benefited from affirmative action and quotas. Am I to believe that these things had nothing to do with him being admitted to Yale, or the great jobs he continued to get under Reagan and Bush, those 2 champions of the poor and black? As someone who benefited from these things I find it hurtful and Ironic that he has decided to take such a firm stance against affirmative action, quotas and well...black folks. Whats your clearance Clarence indeed? Surely you can't be serious? Well yes he is and stop calling him Shirley! (again with the Airplane dialogue, oh well.
